NANNÁ MILLANO is an artist, singer and songwriter from São Paulo, who integrates the richness of Brazilian music with a modern, feminine perspective.
Inspired by artists ranging from Norah Jones to Tom Jobim and Caetano Veloso, her sound is both familiar and innovative, alternating between sunny-romantic vibes and lunar-shamanic notes.
Currently based in France, she released her debut album 'Can't Translate Saudade' in 2024, which weaves the narrative of a transatlantic love challenged and driven by saudade.
Globally distributed by Believe and available on vinyl, the album features 12 original tracks moving across genres such as Bossa Nova, Tropicália, Funk, Jazz, and Pop, featuring renowned Brazilian musicians such as Carlos Malta (who has worked with Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, Lenine, Edu Lobo), Rafael Barata (Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding, Roberta Sá), and Simone Sou (Chico César, Bixiga 70), as well as singer Giuliano Eriston.
The launch at the iconic jazz venue Sunset-Sunside in Paris marked her entry into the international scene, followed by a tour in Brazil. Her music captures both the dark and bright sides of ‘saudade’—an emotion intrinsic to Brazilian identity that sparks curiosity and fascination. On stage, her performances evoke nostalgic memories for Brazilians and instigate international audiences with this enigmatic expression.
Committed to female representation, she actively collaborates with talented female musicians. With a degree in film studies and performing arts, she created and presented in 2018 the series ‘O Álbum das Mulheres Incríveis’ (The Album of Incredible Women), which tells stories of remarkable women, aired on TV by Lifetime Brazil and fully available at no cost on YouTube.
Guided by principles of non-violence, empathy, and emotional connection, she believes in transformation through communication and affection.
Follow Nanná Millano as she takes her music around the world, with her heart always full of saudade.
